Just about a month ago, Amdmb.com reported on the problem of VIA's 8x AGP implementation and drivers on their KT400 chipset. Well, VIA has finally come up with an answer that brings a startingly amount of performance improvement in those benchmarks that they were once lagging behind. Our preview of the upcoming VIA AGP 4.40 drivers shows what you can expect.

Quote: "In the Normal settings under Q3Bench, we saw a jump of 5% in the 640x480 resolution, a 6% jump on the 1024x768 resolution and a 3% jump on the 1600x1200. Those numbers are very nice and are finally pushing the KT400 chipset over the 300 fps mark. On MAX detail, we see a 6% jump on 6x4, a 7% jump on 10x7 and a 4% jump on 16x12. Needless to say this speed increase on this benchmark is worth more than most CPU upgrades are going to do for you."

Well previewing drivers is kind of goofy if you ask me. They should just post the whole review up there! Whats the difference between a driver preview and review anyways?

agreed. Previews are just a cheap way to get hits, and so is splitting an article into parts etc...

Incidentally please see parts 1 (http://www.deviantpc.com/articles/gf4wcp1/index.shtml) , 2 (http://www.deviantpc.com/articles/gf4wcp2/index.shtml) and 3 (http://www.deviantpc.com/articles/gf4wcp3/index.shtml) of our watercooling article...
