Greetings everyone.....
I need a little advice.
I just bought an Infinity Kappa Perfect 10vq subwoofer. I own a 1999 Nissan Maxima. I will have a Rockford Fosgate Amp 400a4 drive the sub exclusively. I'm really not into the earth shattering, teeth cracking, neck snapping thump that you hear from many subs. I want to enhance, "fill-in" and compliment the sound in my car. Could someone recommend a really nice sealed enclosure for this sub?
Thanks

Best bet it to have one custom made for your car. It shouldn't be that expensive.
get a double walled box. i moved my sub from a single wall to double and the quality increased drastically. custom made will usually be extremely high quality if you go to a good builder. you can also get apps that will give you the blue prints to build a specific enclosure for your car to get the best sound from your sub.
q, why don't you want it ported? seems kinda weird to have that sub in a sealed box.

K2....I had someone respond from a different board with the following answer to my question:
What do you think of their response?
As I understand, selad boxes give you better quality. I'm really not into the pounding head banging with some subs.
I modeled it in WinISD for you.
With an EBP of 64.4, it recommends a ported enclosure of 1.3cf (net) with a long 4" vent of 32" long, which is physically impossible with a box that small. A slot port would work though.
HOWEVER:
I modeled it in a sealed box and the best I could come up with (Qtc of .71 which is perfect) was a sealed box of .6cf (net). .6cf is probably not any bigger than the box the sub will come in!!!
The "slightly negative part" is that the F3 is 48Hz, which is a little on the high side...but honestly not that bad, especially considering what you want it for; SQ and fill, not BOOM.
That sub has a max RMS power rating of 350w, which is good for a 10". Get a nice 300w amp, put that bad boy in a sealed box with a net (after driver displacemnent) box of .6, add a little polyfill and you'll be very happy.
I just looked at the spec and that sub is stupidly efficient!!! 94db/1w!!!!! 300w to that thing and it'll pound like a drunken blacksmith.
I'd give you an emphatic "thumbs up" on this little bad boy.
he does have a nice sub eh? :D

K2,
Do you think the attached link matches the subwoofer that a different poster recommended in the specs above.
Is there a better sub out there than qlogic?
Thanks

i had a similiar shaped box for my sub, it was ok and if you want sealed i guess it's probably along the lines of what you want. i'm not really into box building; but i moved my sub to a double mdf walled box that was ported and i found overall it sounded much better for all types of music.
i'd say go to a custom builder if you want sq. mine's more spl.
