hello from austria.

i plan to buy a device for recording lessons, lectures etc. via an external stero microphone in nearly-cd quality.

it seems as MD portables could do this (sony, sharp). but it also seems, that it is impossible to transfer the recorded files to the pc via USB. as much as i read on the web, it is possibly to play back the recordings on the MD player and digitize it on the PC's sound card, like 100 years ago. aarrrglll....

is there any other way to record in high quality and to transfer NOT in real time, but faster, to my PC?

thanks
Romario.

A lot of MP3 players have a line in, allowing you to plug in an external microphone and record on to the HDD. The you might even be lucky enough to be abloe to drap & drop the files in windows explorer (unless you use mac, of course).
The phillips HDD100/ 120 have a line in, but the software for them is arse.
Not sure about other, but a bit of research on the web (as always) will tell you.
