Problem Finalizing Recorded DVD for Sony Handcam

I am desperate for help. I took my 2 year old to Disney world for the first time. When we returned home I was finalizing the DVDs and during the last DVD Finalization, the power went out. The camera will not allow me to finalize the disk. I took the DVD to a professional Videographer and his computer would not read it either. Please if anyone knows what I can do to retrieve the footage, I would appreciate your assistance more than you would ever know. Please feel free to email me at Deemarx2@aol.com. Sorry to say, But I think you will need pro, CD recovery..
And Im not sure its available. as you would have to read the surface the descern what has been done, and be able to seperate any Differences/cuts/transitions in the video format.. they would need the services of sony, and the ability to READ the raw data.. Im not sure that can be done at this time.

So you were transfering the video over to DVD? Can't you just re-transfer it over from the original tape? Is this a DVD camcorder?

This was a long post, from awhile back...Looks like its been cut back.
the Sony has a camcorder that goes straight to DVD.
