Acroread 7 is available for Linux at ...
ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/unix/7x/7.0/enu/
It looks very pretty with gtk2 widgets. Hopefully it functions as well as it looks.

It has nice Firefox/Mozilla intergration as well... just copy the plugin to your Firefox plugin directory or use the install script.
From your acroread directory:
# cp Browser/intellinux/nppdf.so /usr/local/firefox/plugins (or wherever your Firefox install is)

I have this for Windows, but I cannot figure out to use the text touchup tool correctly. What do I do if I want to modify text in the PDF document?

You can fill in forms with Acrobat Reader (given that the pdf allows it... you can view the document security settings in Document --> Security) but can't save anything... ya gotta pay up if you want to save. What is it, about $200 for Acrobat Standard?

I have the full version and I cannot figure out how to implement text changes. It creates little notes and crosses out the text I want changed, but it is not implementing the actual changes.

Hmmm... don't know. Wish I could be of more help but I've never used the full version. The only pdf's I've made have been exports from OpenOffice.

Using the full version 5.0 I saw someone select some text from a pre-existing pdf and drag it around on the page. We added some text also. All that worked fine. He is only person with the full version in the office and we have 7.0 on order so can't really help what problems u are having.

Here is how you can build a custom Adobe Reader 7.0 RPM specifically for Fedora Core 3 with Firefox plugin.
As usual, make sure to have your own rpmbuild directory in your home.
First, you'll need:
- Tarball : AdbeRdr70_linux_enu.tar.gz
- Spec : AdobeReader.spec
Let's begin!
