PCI Type II Card Slot Help

Hi: I have a vpr Matrix model 200A5. Up until now I have had no real problems. I knewits limitations upon purchase. All of a sudden if I try to plug a card into the card slot, the entire system freezes. You can hear the hard drive sto, there is not mouse movement. Also if I try to boot with the card in the computer will not boot, just stops. I am tearing my hair out over this one. Thanks, Bozmit

Since your laptop will not boot with the card plugged than this eliminates a driver problem. It is hardware problem.

Have you tried more than one card? Possibly the card your plugging in may be causing the problem. The other alternative if it isn't the PCMCIA card is that something is borked with the slot... bent pins, etc.
