Bryan over at OCC has completed a review on the King 450Watt Triple fan power supply unit. Here is a quote from his review:

Quote:

For the average computer owner, that measly 220W power supply is more than enough to power their system. For the enthusiast, it's all about power, and demand for power can be double or even triple that of the average owner. Not only do we have to run our highly over clocked computer, we have to power other items such as Cold Cathode Lights, Fan Buses, LCD displays, a dozen fans, a water cooling setup, and maybe even a TEC/Pelt, and the more items we add, the more power we need. Well, thanks to companies like Kingwin, we have a supplier for our demanding needs. And today, they've supplied us with a 450W Triple Fan Switching Power Supply.

Conclusion:

"Just posting voltage readings still has no meaning without qualifying those figures. Watching the voltmeter constantly during the testing reveals the true stability of any electronic component. An oscilloscope would be the preferred method of testing an electronic component which would enable the detection of noise levels also. All the power supplies responded to the added demand put upon them. The Kingwin KWI-450W and the Vantec maintained that voltage with a minimal amount of fluctuation from the initial voltage. As an example, once the output of the +5V line reached its output level, the Kingwin only varied approximately 1 to 2 tenths of a volt from that output. Where the other power supplies would vary between 5 to 9 tenths of a volt, sometimes going below the +5V level with the exception of the Vantec which also only varied 1 to 2 tenths of a volt. This type of fluctuation, could over time affect data integrity and the gradual failure of components due to the constant voltage fluctuations. Besides the ability to keep the voltages within tight tolerances, the Kingwin KWI-450W power supply is also very quiet with its dual ball bearing fans. It has been well built and I found its performance to be great. I don't think you should discount the power supply when you start looking for a PSU. For its looks and performance it is priced well below the competitors of the same wattage."
