HELP! Can someone help me with Limewire install/uninstall

I need help!! I recently downloaded and installed Limewire 4.8, without trouble. Although when I try to run the new version, my monitor blanks out for a second and the older version runs instead. I tried uninstalling the old version but I am unable. When I go to add/remove programs, the uninstall shield starts to uninstall the old version, but stops midway through. I thought that if I uninstalled both the old and new version I could then download 4.8 again. But, I can't uninstall the old version. Anyone know why or how I can do this and get 4.8 to run correctly. I'd really appreciate any feedback

I recently upgraded from 4.6 to 4.8, and just ran the installer without uninstalling the old one. It looks for previous versions and uninstalls them itself before installing the new version. I did notice that the LINK to the .exe file was the old version and not the new...maybe this is a glitch?

brianj, thanks for your reply! During installation of 4.8 it says it is uninstalling previous versions, then an error code comes up that states the install will be halted. I hit OK and the install then continues. I can't figure it out. Like I mentioned, if I could just uninstall the prior version, then download the new version, I think I'd be in good shape, but it won't uninstall. How can I uninstall it??

I had the same problems with Limewire. I had to restore my hard disk from a Ghost image in the end.
