Fonts Folder , What is it, what does it do?

I've had my hdd100 for a year or so and thanks to this board, i've been able to keep it working instead of in the junk drawer.

Does anyone have any idea what the Fonts folder is or what it does. It's been drivng me nuts ever since I bought the damn thing.

Its a NOME, as in Alaska...Maybe a smurf..
Fonts, as may not be for this device, but for ALL the others is a place to insert the FORMAT for letters...
the STYLE of the letters you are typing with, or are displyed, hopefully in a legible fashion..
