MPIO HD300 - transferring WMA files

I just obtained an HD300 mp3 player, and like everyone else, i am seeing that the documentation is horrible. I am trying to rip my cds to the HD300 using WindowsMediaPlayer. I set the Copier to output WMA files directly to E:\Music, so the files go into the correct folder. However, on running the MPIO utility to add those files to the playlist, the songs don't actually show up when i turn on the player.

Is there some step i am missing? DO i need to rip to my PC and then drag and drop onto the player'? Will the player detect songs in nested folders, or only in the Root Music folder?

Also, my old RCA lyra had a Heading "Ärtist/Album", whereas the MPIO player only has Artist OR Album - will albums be separated under this menu system, or will all songs starting with "1" be listed together, followed by "2" songs?
