Is it possible to change the video card in a laptop... I realize it is located on the motherboard but was wondering if it can be changed... specifically, I have a toshiba P25-S509 with a Nvidia Geforce fxGo 5200 with 32mg and I was interested in bumping it to at least 64mgs... I am running XP with the newest SP... it is very fast... 1G RAM with 2.8G PIV, but the video is not large enough to run a couple of games I would like.... is there anything that I can do?

Toshiba's answers are rather "cut and dried"... "no" was their response.... however, I figured this forum would be populated by techies that might have further info or ideas.... I may have been wrong.

thanks anyway....

Hi there, i looked at your posts about upgrading your graphics on your laptop. I have done some research about the situation and it is most likely that you will not be able to upgrade you graphics card as most graphics cards on laptops are soldered onto the motherboard. However you might struck luky its worth finding out. Laptops are not specificly for games if you want gaming i best recomend a dektop pc. If you can upgrade then DONT ET A NORMAL GRAPHICS CARD you have to get a special mobility graphics card like the radeon mobility range or NVIDIA GO series.
