The TheaterMaster 8 series offer 8 channels of audio output for extra surround processing, such as Dolby Digital Surround-EX and DTS-ES. The Ovation 8 is the lower price of the two models in the series and it has MSRP of $4495.
The Ovation 8 is enhanced with better DACs than its predecessor, capable of processing 24 bits, 96 kHz digital stream. It can also play HDCD encoded CDs. For compatibility with SACD and DVD-A, it is equipped with 8-channels of analog pass-through. The pass-through can be partitioned for 2 and 6 channel functioning, or combined for 8 channel functioning, which is a very nice and unique feature.
The Ovation 8 provides an AutoSetup feature with AutoLevel speaker balancing, AutoDelay calibration of speaker delays, and AutoPhase detection of speaker polarity utilizing the supplied microphone. Its front panel display is relatively large, high contrast and provides informative and ergonomic user interface.
The audio inputs of the Ovation 8 are quite extensive: 6 digital inputs including 5 coaxial and 1 optical, and three stereo analog inputs. Besides the 8 channels of single ended outputs, balanced outputs are also provided for the two front channels. The Ovation 8 can also accommodate 6 video inputs with three S-video and three composite video for integrated video switching.
