Hi, I have had a Jenson 500w amp installed in my Explorer for the past 3 years. The amp is solely connected to dual sub-woofer box behind the rear seat. The amp gets plenty of air in that area. The problem is all of a sudden I am getting zero power from the amp. I have checked the fuse from the battery, checked all wiring from battery to the amp. Checked fuses on the amp itself, all ok. This has happened twice before and each time it was either the fuse at the battery and then 1 fuse on the amp itself. If someone could help, I have 2 questions, 1. Is the amp totally gone now? 2. I have purchased another Jensen amp 460w, would I be able to simply disconnect the other amp and connect this one, with no problems. Or in other words would there be any type of compatability problems. Thanks, all help is appreciated. I would gladly take answers at my email address dx747sp@verizon.net

Sounds like it is blown. Do the Jensen amps have an auto shutoff ability that turns it off in extreme heat?

I dont think so, I have played with every button on the amp itself. Nothing that I can see. Thanks for the reply.

Let us know how the new amp works out. Make sure you get one that has a built in fail safe to turn it off when its gets too hot.

I had a similar problem. When i tried to swap my amp it would not work. Not all amps have the same configuration. I contacted a company online for technical help www.ukcaraudio.co.uk and they gave me some good advice. when i gave the model of my new amp they said it was not the configuration i needed. They gave me great advice and sold me the correct amp.
Great servive and fast delivery.

Might also check the speakers..cheap trick is to use a 9volt battery, and Tap the wires on the connections..
