I am kind of confused about dolby digital My computer. It came with Cmedia onboard audio and PowerDVD 4 with dolby digital . Cmedia uses Xear DSP and and and can be set up for 5.1 Audio and virtual 5.1 audio PowerDVD has three 2 speaker audio settings
A3D Direct sound 3D
dolby surround compatible downmix
and stereo
If I set it to A3D the output is extremley weak but on the other 2 settings there is no problem . My question is Even though Cmedia does not support dolby does Xear 3D use the Dolby down mix for 5.1 and virtual 5.1? I have searched the internet and asked this question at local dealers with out a satisfactory answer.
