How come everytime I get spyware on my computer, some of my programs stop working? What I mean is, for example, my computer search and Norton AntiVirus don't even open up anymore. And when I reinstall the programs, they still don't work. I got rid of all my spyware, but the programs aren't working anymore! Any advice????
WELL,
they may have been removed but NOT what they did.
your computer search needs to be Fixed, but thats easy. In options you can set it where you want.
As for Norton(I dont like it much) there should be a switch in the reg..to set it to start when you turn computer on... This isnt removed when you Kill norton.
There are a few ways to do this..
1. remove Norton, completely...and run REG CLEAN...It will remove programs in REG, that are not on the system anymore.
2. is to SEARCH the reg for any mention of Norton/symantic and correct them or delete them..Then START norton, and set the option to BEGIN at startup..
One of those should work, or contact symantic and ask them, WHERE to find this fix.

It's weird that after I got this problem again, my programs don't work anymore. Norton only scans if I use it through My Computer, Search has missing Search Companion, my Windows Movie Maker is not opening, and RecordNow (CD burning program) is gone. Problem is, when I uninstall and reinstall the problem is still there. I deleted all the folders that came along with it, but it still doesn't work. When this happened last time, I got it fixed and everything was normal again. I downloaded this program called iMesh for music downloading and it messed up everything. I deleted the spyware that came along with it, but many programs don't open up. When I click on them, it says that the file doesn't exist or that I need to run setup again. What can I do to fix things? Right now, I use Limewire and WinMX to download music. Do I have to erase them in order to make things work again?
If you wish to know...
YES..
Other wise you can get Norton utilities, and it will give you the option to FIND and FIX the programs..
