I have run updated versions of NAV, adaware, pestpatrol, spybot, adware away, hijackthis, and spy sweeper in both safe and normal mode, but nothing seems to fix the about:blank problem. I did windows updates and patch/fix updates. I also deleted some entries in hijackthis, but apparently not enough entries. After I deleted the apibo32.exe, it came back when I performed a second hijackthis scan. Could that mean that hijackthis may be ineffective?

I also deleted the apibo32.exe and winqr.exe in the system32 folder, but that didnt work either. I also did a search for these files and deleted any files that came up.

Unplug the internet from your computer
Reboot To Safe Mode (tap F8 on Startup)


Delete these Files and or Folders

Still In Safe Mode Open up Hijack This and Place a check next to each of these and click Fix Checked.

Still In Safe Mode Delete all Temporary Internet Files, Cookies, Run Microsoft Antispyware, AdAware and Spybot,delete what they find , Empty recycle bin.

Plug the internet back in and Reboot to normal mode and post a new log..........Jim
