I just got a NEX IIe and like it a lot. I read in some of the reviews that the company would put the reviewer's graphic on the display of the unit sent for reveiw. Does anyone know if users can define their own graphic to display? The user's manual doesn't say anything about it.

i also own the NEX IIe in black. As far as i know, there is no way to define your own graphics to display as of yet. I went through the manual also and i couldnt find any information regarding this.

btw, what color is your player? do you have a problem with the display of it? are there lines running vertical through the display? does it cut words off at the bottom?

my player does all that, im going to get it replaced if possible tomorrow. Ive heard that sometimes the black model of the player has had display problems, like blurriness and such, so i was thinking of getting my replacement in white. I dont see how the outside shell colour would effect the internal parts, but thats what ive heard.

well i like the NEX IIe. You wont find anything better for the price. There arent many other players out there that sound this good, and display ID3 tags for this price range. The battery compartment is kinda a pain in the ass, i find it hard to get the cover off, and the batteries are wedged in pretty good, but its not that much of a problem.

i got mine replaced, so it shows the entire screen now, but the guy said there is nothing you can do about the lines with the black model of it. once again, not a big issue. all in all i think its a damn good player if you dont have the money to get a top of the line device

Maybe the Nex IId will fix those display problems. I hope they can stay in business so as to offer competition to those companies whom are making the high storage capacity mp3 players.

I have a black player, and haven't seen any lines on the display. Some song titles don't display, however, and I haven't figured out a common denominator for that problem yet. Apostrophes don't display, but that's true of a lot of these devices. Other than that, it's a great player.

Sounds to me like a lot of people have been returning them. I have not seen many reviews on the net either.

On behalf of designtechnica I would like to apologize to anyone who purchased a NEX IIe as a result of our first look on the item. Alot of times because the items are so new we don't get a chance to actually use the item before we review it. I hope that we can provide you with good recommendations in the future.

A first look isn't actually a product review. It is cool to be able to give visitors to the site as much information on a product as possible when it first enters the market. The NEX IIe on paper looks like a great product, and while people here in the forums which own it seem to like it despite its problems, there should not be as many issues with a product like this as people are reporting. Let's see if we can get one to review Disco.
