Please help I've tried reading others threads and have tried to fix the problem but I just can't pull it off - I need expertise that I don't have. My IE browser seems to be hijacked I believe with the res://C:\WINDOWS\system32\shdoclc.dll/dnserror.htm but nothing I have done seems to have cleared it out. I use Adaware, Spybot, Microsoft AbtiSpyware, CWS Shredder,Symantec AV. I have worked around the problem by using other browsers Mozilla, Firefox & Netscape but I have a site that only uses IE and need to get it back....
Thanks in advance for any and all assitance.

I dont see much here, One 04 and a few with missing files.

Reboot To Safe Mode (tap F8 on Startup)

Open up Hijack This and Place a check next to each of these and click Fix Checked.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AlcxMonitor] ALCXMNTR.EXE

Still In Safe Mode Delete all Temporary Internet Files, Cookies, Run CW Shredder, AdAware and Spybot, delete what they find , Empty recycle bin.

Reboot to normal mode and post a new log..........Jim

Jim,
When I reboot to safe mode should my internet be disconnected? Does it matter?
Also when I enter Safe mode I have a choice of Admin or Owner - is one better than the other to go in or both?

You have some kind of new Spyware thats not showing up on your HijackThis Log.

When I look at your log it appears clean. Ive seen this a few times the last few weeks.

If I cant see the problem I cant help. You can try this message board.

http://boards.cexx.org/viewforum.php?f=3&topicdays=0&start=100

They deal with hard to kill Spywares. Give them a try.

If that doesnt work bring it to a Professional who can actually see it. You may have to reinstall Windows.

I hope someone can find a fix for this soon. Its a bad one. :eww

I believe I have found the fix for issues I had at shutdown from HP Customer Care:
"When I shut down hpcmpmgr.exe always end program not responding - acts like it is trying to execut/dowload but always fails - not sure if it is of any significance? But is a regular thing... "

hpcmpmgr.exe. If an HP peripheral product, such as a Photosmart, Deskjet, All-In-One, or other device is connected to the computer, do not disable the program hpcmpmgr.exe. If you are experiencing an error condition with hpcmpmgr.exe, the program may have become corrupted, or be in conflict with another system component. To resolve this issue, search the HP support site for hpcmpmgrFix.exe to find a downloadable solution.

NOTE: hpcmpmgr.exe is used with HP Software Update to keep your HP peripherals current with the latest software and drivers. hpcmpmgr.exe is not spyware

If thats the only problem you are expieriencing it may be the answer. The file could have been corrupted by a trojan or something. Maybe HP has a website and maybe even a message board to help with that.

Your latest log looks good so you shouldnt have any Spyware anymore..........Jim
