anyone had any experiance with the tech support in the uk. i wanna know how long they are gonna keep the player for. warrenty runs out next month so heres hoping they dont hold it for ages and just say warrenty runs out

they are coming to pick it up tomorrow, you think i should reformat it before i send it off because iam using soloums hddtool instead of philips software and i dont want them saying because i used third party software it has invalidated the warranty

NOPE, leave it alone.
They aint taking your computer so they dont need to know that..

if solons tool is on there and you're worried...just take it off. philips tech support seems to be pretty good at least in Australia (bit of a rip if ur not under warranty though)

well i got my player back today, they only had it for about 8 days.i was hoping they would replace my player with a new one but they repaired my old one. they got a pretty good tech suport set up when i phoned up i was never left on hold for more then a minute, they also arranged for the player to be picked up by a currier so i didnt have to post it off or anything

good for you if you get to deal with a pretty good tech support. usually, i get in touch with customer service representatives who appear to have no knowledge on what they're actually doing. it really annoys me!

i think i spoke to soon, i guess my hard drive just went,i connected it to send over a load of music and after 15 minutes the mp3 player just froze and the computer wouldnt do anything. so i reset my computer. now the harddrive makes clicking noises whenever i turn it on and either stays on the philips logo not doing anything or displayers "!". tried conecting it to the computer again but my comp dosnt even pick it up anymore.

ill be blaming this all on philips of course was perfectly fine before i sent it off to them

sounds like you need to RESET the machine, as a test..
ALSO, may be a heat problem, Turn it off for at least 30 min, then try again..

Otherwise, contact Philips.

Well, i too had this problem with hdd100, has been stalling on and off for ages but put up with it. Now even a soft reset wont solve it and computer does not recognise player. machine out of warranty. Phoned philips who were worse than useless, refused to accept there was a general problem with the player freezing and claimed they had only ever had ONE !!! sent back with this problem. They offered to repair the player for £135.00 !!!!! I told them where to go. Have written to customer complaints and will keep you informed. As philips is a European co. i have always purchased their products, but no more. Unless they repair my player for free, then I will never buy another philips product. This player is without doubt the biggest load of rubbish I have bought in years.
