Hi, I've had my hd100 for over a year now and my battery life is not good (about 3 hours) even though I thought I'd looked after it well enough. Just wondering if anyone knows where i can get a replacement battery for it, I've opened it up and it says its a
SONY FUKUSHIMA
UP325385 A4H
7DLD20D
I've tried searching for it but no luck, anyone have any ideas where i can get one or an alternative? I cant really be bothered to send it off for a replacement battery as I think its something i could easily do. I would have rather them make it a little bigger and have it use AAA batteries or something, at least then in a long journey you could just replace the batteries if they run out.
Thanks.

It's the same as GEN1 ipods.

u can also get higher capacity ones http://www.dsmiller.com/html/MP3-Player-Apple-UP325385-B-8611.htm
dunno how well they'd work with the philips.

Cheers mate, just ordered one off an ipod website, should probably have looked harder for it in the first place and apparently these batteries are 70% better, so thats much better.

Right, it came in the post today and I found out the battery connecter is quite different to that on the hdd100, so I had to solder it to the old one and also it doesnt have a white wire (not really sure what thats for), only the black and red. Another problem is that the battery i got is a little bit thicker so its quite a squeeze to get the case closed up but I got it done eventually. It seems to be working fine so far, but its on charge at the moment so I wont really know if it will work fully untill its fully charged. Im quite worried about that white wire on my old battery, anyone have any ideas?
Heres (http://shop.ipodworld.co.uk/iPodWorldSite/product/alliPods_Batteries%20and%20Power/OW03.htm) the battery i got.
i have got the same problem but with hdd120.....is the same battery of hdd100? i want a new batterrryyy!!!!! pleaseee

Hi there!
I'm still stuck with my hdd100. :) Had the same problem.. my battery nearly drained, works for a few hours, feels like no juice.. So i ordered replacement battery, the same as above, the one for iPods 1G/2G, but with a slightly higher capacity - 2200mAh. It worked fine for a day. I even charged it for like 10 hours but the next day I noticed no progress on battery indicator. It remained on 1-2 bars, while it had 3 straight off the box!
My guess is philips charger is not recharging the battery. It has the same writings as above, sony battery UP325385 A4H.
I connected it the way original battery's red and black wires were connected, while I left the white (middle one) place in that tiny connector empty.
Any ideas on how to resolve this? Is it the charger? Or the white wire? Or what?
thx and regards

Well, if anyone is interested..
After a whole weekend of searching the net about info on li-polymer batteries .. and some experimenting.. my 2200mAh 3.7V UP425585 A4H battery...
IS CHARGING!!!
If everything goes well, hope to get hmmm 15-20 hrs of playback time on HDD100, but that is yet to see...
Watch this space for more info. Charging undergoing.. :)

OK, battery is FULL!
Now I'm testing. Will post results of playback time and settings for the test.
From what I see initially, response is absolutely RAPID. Battery indicator is peaked at four bars and not moving. Fantastic so far.

was the problem (not charging) related to the white wire?

"was" ? what do you mean by that?
aaahaaaa
yep
the "not-charging" problem WAS related to the white wire. exactly. the one that I shortconnected with the black one.

Hello flautash
I have a New battery like you told. But now the question, is it still working (the HD100) and how you fixed it with the white wire.
Please let us know how you did it.

@Bedee:
All you need to do is to connect the battery. Once you open the player (6 screws) you will see the old battery connected via three wires. Red, black and white.
When you take out the old battery, you need to connect the new one, right? I understand that all non-philipsHDD1X0 batteries will NOT have the third, white wire. I managed to get around that.
You need to shortconnect the pins where the old white and the black wire were connected. It takes some soldering or little improvising.
So: new battery: red to red, black to blackANDwhite.
This way it becomes fully operational.
good luck.

I used the same batterie an placed it in my HDD100 and.......it is now loading, so it will be work i think.
TIP: Use the old connector of the original batterie and twist the Black and White wire and connect these to the black wire of the Ipod batterie.
Tommorow more of this story, then the batterie is FULL i hope. omg:
