I have had my HDD100 for two years and it has frozen periodically since i bought it, A firmware download and an easy to use soft reset helped a little and I put up with it, until 3 days ago it froze on the Philips screen, a soft reset turns it off but it gets no further on restarting.The computer does not recognise the disk either because of this so can't reformat. Spoke to philips who want £135.00 to repair it because it is out of warranty, and will not entertain any suggestion that there is a general problem with this machine. They claim I am only the second person to bring this fault to their attention!!!!YEAH RIGHT!!! I have complained to Head office and will keep people informed of my progress. If they do not repair it for me I will put up link to video of it being blown up in a controlled explosion, as it is without doubt the biggest load of rubbish I have ever bought.
