Lumines is standard PSP issue now. Get it. Ridge racer or Wipe Out: Pure if you want a racing game. I got Mercury, and it is so-so. Not bad if you want a second puzzle game. My gf loves Hot Shots Golf.

I've heard bad things about Coded Arms, including that they require you to update the firmware. If you do that, you lose teh ability to play homebrew software. Why's that a big deal? There are emulators for NES, SNES, and Genesis. You can essentially carry the entire catalogue of Nintendo games on a 512MB memory stick!

I already updated the firmware before finding out about those ..... sux, huh? My buddy told me as it was happening. He's a DS guy, though, so he told me spitefully, not helpfully. Although I have also read bad reviews aboud Coded I'm still going to get it because it's the only FPS game and I love shooters. I like puzzle games too, so I think I will get Lumines and Mercury, thanks for the suggestions. I'll let you know what I think of Coded Arms.

OK, so, I love Coded Arms. I think it's a great shooter, and it's totally designed for portablility. I have looked at the reviews and I think they're all on crack, it's like I'm not even playing the same game. I think people expect too much from the first FPS for a new console and are not used to a single stick shooter. Works fine for me, though. Highly recommend it. Can't tell ya if it's worth updating the firmware, tho', because I did that right away.

Anyone played Death Jr. yet? How is it? I'm gonna grab a copy after work. Looks awfully cute. There's a contest for a free copy on the official site: http://www.deathjr.com/contest.html

I got Death Jr, I think it's good. It kinda feels like a Tim Burton 3D platformer. (Think Nightmare Before Christmas meets Super Mario 64.) It has some nifty features, like using your scythe to hook on to things to climb or swing, but it's pretty much an action platformer. This game feels like it's designed for the PSP, so the controls are easy to get the hang of, and control doesn't feel adapted from some other platform. I got used to the analog pad a lot more quickly than I thought I would. I'm still trying to get the hang of the different weapons, and which enemies to use them against. I still get killed when there are a lot of enemies, mostly because I forget about the Pandora assist (charge up that kills all enemies on-screen.) I was wondering why there weren't any bosses, but I guess I hadn't gone far enough. The style of the game is funny, or at least a little twisted. There were some laugh-out-loud moments (like Stigmartha trying to cover her eyes when she was attacked by the demon.) My favorite weapon? C4 hamsters!

Heh, C4 hamsters, cute, deadly, heat-seeking... I like it. I hear there's a movie being made, I can't wait.

I was in the exact same situation you were - upgraded my PSP to 2.0 and then found out I couldn't run any emulators or other "homebrews". Well, in case you didn't know, it is now possible to downgrade your PSP from 2.0 back to 1.5 - this procedure was just released a few days ago - and it worked successfully on my PSP without any problems. Do it at your own risk though - it requires a PSP version 1001 - it will not work on other versions, or it may even cause problems with the hardware.

follow all the directions, read them thoroughly BEFORE starting, and you should be fine. Again, you need a PSP model 1001 - look at the serial code on the bottom edge of the PSP - the last 4 numbers are what should say 1001.

What I found unique in the Xbox 360 is that it offers near-photo-realistic graphics, play music and video and link up gaming communities over the Internet that Sony and Nintendo is planning to offer next year.

What I find interesting is how your link goes to a crap blog with nothing there. Clearly you are trying to generate traffic. Get a life.
