This is funny,
According to analyst firm Gartner, about 40% of all Linux PCs will be reinstalled with a pirated copy of Microsoft Windows, number that even rises to 80% in some developing countries such as China, where a pirated copy of Windows can be purchased in the streets of Shangai for the equivalent of US$1. Result: Gartner predicts a very good figure from Linux this year in Asia with about 10.5% of desktop PCs shipped with Linux, but the penguin would still get only 1.3% of the Asian market for the install base on desktop PCs! Analysts are pointing fingers to the price of Microsoft's operating systems, only component of a standard PC which price have not dropped over the last few years. Windows was accounting for 5% to 6% of the cost of a "professional"-class PC in 1996, against 12% to 15% today.
