I just got a Dell Axim 50v. So far it is pretty awesome. I had not messed with a Pocket PC in a long time. The Windows PDA operating system has come a long way. My one complaint in the little time I've used it is with the version of Windows Media Player included. The Dell has a wonderful screen so I wanted to see how it would do with video. To my disappointment the WMP supports a surprising small number of codecs. Essentially it will play WMA, WMV and MP3 and that's about it. Not even MPEG video is supported. Very surprising to me.

Aren't there sites out there that offer codecs for download that you can use?

www.pocketpcthoughts.com

www.davesipaq.com

These sites should have some resources.

Just install BetaPlayer, it's the best video player for PocketPc.

Thanks for the links and suggestions. I was going to start looking at third party solutions. I was just surprised that WMP was so limited.
