Hi,
I have a hdd065/05 bought for me as a present. I desparately need small, battery or mains powered speakers, to enable me to use it in India as a music source.
I've had zero luck in finding any small speaker setup that will give any volume at all. I can only assume that the 16ohm output is a complete mismatch with small amp inputs.
I called the dealer who said he couldn't help but I should contact Philips (uk) on 0870 900 9070 for advice.
I called and waited through their thrilling menu system, and waited and waited. It was 23 minutes before I spoke to anyone. I was then subjected to an inquisition regarding the serial number, the Invoice number, the date of purchase, the model number.... all I wanted to know was wher could I buy some usable speakers? I made the point strongly to the female inquisitor that that was all I wanted to know. She said that she would ask a supervisor and asked me to hold. When she came back on the message was, 'Philips cannot help you, you need another manufacturers equipment to do the job'.
A lesson learnt for me and maybe for someone else who reads this. One hour completely wasted with Philips, and still no further forward with my problem that I need to resolve urgently!
The message is to research and buy a decent MP3 palyer to begin with and not an also ran like Philips.
If anyone has a solution for me I would appreciate hearing from them.
