Hi,
I've just got a brand new HDD120 and cannot get it to charge. It functions correctly when plugged into the AC adapter. I have left for > 10 hours but it will not power up without the AC adapter.
I've tried soft rests, new firmware (actually older) but neither help. From these forums people seem to have this problem when using foreign adapters but this is a uk hdd120 with uk adapter.
Does anybody have any ideas because i have run out. I don't really won't all the hassle of paying for posting to philips and having to wait for possible replacement.
Thanks

Couple of things I could mention...
(1) It's brand new, so I wonder if you have the same experience I had in that I didn't realise there is NO CHARGE INDICATOR when the unit isn't switched on. So you can have the charger plugged into it, but there's no sign of it doing anything, even though it IS charging. I took my first one back to the shop because of this, it was only when my replacement did the same thing that I realised my mistake.
(2) Did you start to charge and then stop before it was fully charged - or switch it on straight out of the box, without giving it a chance to charge? If you did either, the battery capacity may have been screwed, and you'll need a replacement.
Just a check, with regards to (1) - when the charger is plugged in and the unit switched on, does the power indicator have a little lightning bolt over it? This means it's charging, but the manual doesn't bother to mention it.

Thanks for the reply,
I realise that the hdd120 does not display anything when charging but can see how it would be an easy mistake to make :P
Soon as I got it I put it onto charge so don't think I have knackered the battery. When it's powered on via the AC adapter the only symbol is the little plug, no lightning. Does the lightning symbol disapear when fully charged or always display when charging?
Any other ideas?
Also has anybody had any experience of send thing back to philips for replacement?

The lightning bolt appears when it's charging. When it's fully charged (and basically running from AC power directly) then the plug icon appears...
