I want to point out that you can download the guide in PDF format here: http://reviews.designtechnica.com/pdf/guides/41/how_to_buy_a_photo_printer.pdf

Take it with you to the store shopping.

I usually just carry it to the checkout counter and either pay by check, cash or credit card. :P

I use my photo printer for graphic art as well as photo graphs so I may not have the same useage put aside from printing actual photos, which should really be on some sort of photo paper anyway, the regualr copy paper for copy machines is usually some of the best paper to print on, and it is a lot cheaper than the paper for your brand flavor. while I tend to only use hammermill and xerox most seem to do the job, where you don't need photorealitic images.

The other thing is I'm not sure when epson is going to stop selling them but their 1280 photo 13x19 printer is a 4 picoliters printer that prints much nier images than many of those much smaller finer dots, though the only place you may be able to buy it is through epsons store which does have a $100 rebate till dec.

Though the nicest image I saw was on a wax infusion printer I was stepping up for the nmci project, it looked like ink jet cart only much more expensive I think it was xerox.
