I’ve been searching the internet for help with no luck, LG USA support in not very customer friendly. After coming across this site in my search, I was hoping someone here can either answer a simple question or direct me to immediate help.
On October 7, 2005, I went into the Best Buy store in Princeton, NJ to purchase a HDTV. Out of all the TVs I’ve seen on display, the LG 30FZ4D stuck out above all of the other 30” HDTV, so I purchased it. I have Comcast HD service and using the HDMI/DVI cable and Digital Audio Optical cable. After having it for a few weeks I notice some problems, artifacts in the solid red areas, so I called Best Buy to come out and calibrated the TV for a $80.00 fee. The 2 guys that came out did the calibration by eye without any calibration software or hardware hookups. It looked pretty good on HD channels but regular channel looked poor. The problem that I have is they went into the service menu and changed the pin-cushion settings, the white balance settings, the sub-bright settings, sub-tint/color settings and the VPX3226 Contrast (m) and Contrast(s) Settings. I would like to change all the settings back to defaults.
The real problem is Best Buy doesn’t sells that TV anymore, so I can’t get the salesperson to go into the service menu and read off the settings; I called LG USA support and they do not have that info, I won’t be able to have service call until after the New Year because LG USA sub contracts their service calls to local venders. The problems I have with that is the vendor does not have the defaults settings and they will end up doing the same thing as Best Buy did.
Here is the link with TV Specs http://overture2-cnet.com.com/4014-6481_9-31325034.html?part=overture2-cnet&subj=103021451&tag=103021451
My question is where I can find the correct default settings for the service menu? Or someone who has this set can go into the service menu and give me the settings.
To get into the Service Menu, hold menu on remote and menu on tv at the same time. takes about 5-10 secs to enter the menu.
