Every time I turn my mp3 player on its says connect to pc and rebuild with recovery utility. Can any one help

Mine gave me the same problem within a day of purchase also I noticed that the keypad was rather delicate with wear-out marks already visible. Sent it rocketing back to Target where it had come from. I now have a SanDisk 4GB flash Mp3 player which is much smaller and also works lots better.
