Which one do you like better? The freelancer looks pretty wicked!
Im thinking X2, I got more info on it.
But its NOT Multiplayer.. YET, they are working on it tho.

Now this is something I could get into...
Ever since the days of FreeSpace 2...I've been itching for more....such a cool game!
With all the Games coming out, its a PAIN to choose 1-2 good ones.
Even with a DEMO, you cant tell for sure, as to Depth of game in the long run.
I WILL get Moo3, as its out next month.

Well that makes three space sims that I wouldn't mind playing. Did anyone play those Homeworld games? I tested a demo from one of them and it seemed pretty cool.
Homeworld is supposed to be totally cool. For a combat sim.
But complicated.
Lets see.

Love to see ELITE 4 released, if ever.
I liked Darkspace, but its not REAL 3d, but a cool game for a pay game.
And I think there will be 3 more. Not sure what they are.
My problem is finding one as OPEN and free movement as Elite2-3. AND not paying LOTS of money for net play.
EVE looks cool but its LARGE ships, tactical fighting, and you cant do some things.
X2, you are supposed to be able to BUILD your own stations.
MOO3, is a senerio game. 2-16? players fighting over planets, and developing to win the galaxy. SP would be fine and take a few days, but MP could SUCK rotton eggs trying to get more then 2 players ONLINE all the time for DAYS>weeks. year?
Freespace is an offshoot of Home world.
Freelancer is MS. SUCK, I dont want to give them anymore money.
Elite 4 is supposed to be Space and planet based, and released on 6 platforms, which is what "I" think is slowing its release.
Iv played so many "slam bam thnk-ya mam" games, I dont know If some of theese THINKING games will do me any good. I loaded up MOO2 and ITS HARD.

Wow, X2 looks awsome! I cannot wait until I am finished building my gaming machine complete with surround sounds. This game would look sweet with a Radeon 9700PRO video card.

eve is very close to a sim..ya its massive multiplayer but it deals with trade, working for corps, building your own corp, etc.
The ony difference is you can't "win" in a sense.
However, it looks great, has a great soundtrack from what i've heard (you can download songs and stuff from their site) and looks very involved. I mean, when you can actually customize the paint on your ship to actually be unique, that is cool.
what about Hegemonia: Legions of Iron (http://www.monkeyreview.com/reviews/review.php?num=220)
Anyone play that?
Iv heard that ALOT of the games are great at the beginning, but fail in the end, due to you having DONE everything, and there is NOTHING to go with a mega charactor.

Thats the problem Earth & Beyond players are having, the game got boring after a while, but they finally now are releasing new missions and an actual storyline.
Haegemonia is an RTS.. I like Homeworld better.
You talking about mmporg? Well, there is plenty to do at higher levels, it just takes a lot of sitting on your butt and waiting.
However, the newer generation of games are trying to solve that problem. Games like EQ, etc in my opinion are boring as hell.
But Eve is a space online massive player game. You can do the old work for one of the typical corporations, or you can start your own. You can do typical work, or be a pirate, or mine, etc. It sounds very interesting to me. And the graphics are simply amazing.
The also have massive multiplayer first person shooters that are nothing like EQ. Its basicly thousands of people waring against each other. You gain attributes and skills but its not like a normal mmporg, because a newb could still kill someone who's high level.

eve does look uberiffic, I've been watching it for some time now.
Earth & Beyond is a qutie good MMORPG... it has a free demo going on, you should check it out.
I understand EVE, and I think they are going to miss out on a few things. You have probably seen me in there.
But a BIG ship has as many bad points as a small one. There are to many in there that WANT the big ships for massive distruction. They want to play the game as a Shoot-em up, NOT a sim. And the Corp structure is going to suck. Its not interdependant on anything. ONE corp is going to RULE that game in 1 year. they are going to need to tweak it, and players AINT going to like it.
And yes, I like Skills, and abilities over LEVELS. Hate seeing level 99 players scrapping allo the Newbies in a game, when there AINT anything special about them. A shot in the gut will still kill you, but NOT at level 99.
And As I have said, SCREW the graphics, I dont need 32 bit 1024x768, 128 meg graphics. I only want a good concept, good game. 16 bit would be great, low DPI.
Saw one game, using a 128 meg card and it was cashing off the HD. It was pretty. BUT it SUCKED.
Until they make a Independant CPU processed video card, WITH a Upgradeable DX on it, and RAM add-on's(upto 1 gig) I REALLY see no advancement.

on EVE all they have is concept art, movies(2?), and havent released a demo or the beta.
I would think the beginning is going to be a RUSH, but after half the persons find out that pirateing is HARD, and most of the game is based on team work rather then ONE person, half will leave. After that, it will get into the realm of MONOTany. doing alot of the same stuff, to garner more wealth to become BIGGER.
There is only going to be 2 things happening.
1. They want bigger, bigger is better.
2. The best ship for anything, for fighting, for pirateing, for cargo.
After that, 1-2 corps will try to RULE everything. A giant monopoly game. With RISK thrown in for fun.
I still wish ELITE 4 was on the horizan.

All I see is 2 movies.
Do you see anyone posting what the weapons are, the ship layouts, the power requirements, anything.
did you know you cant swapp-out the engines, for bigger/better ones.
demo's never come out until a game is released.

AND theyve posted a release date. AND its being released in about 1 month.
So, go pay $50 for it. Then pay $10 amonth for it. And tell us if you REALLY like it, then about 1 month later tell us if you are soured on it.
It would be nice to add, one more OPEN element to it. One that cant be controlled by HUMANS. Computer controlled governments, insted of just corps.
Another thought;
Its going to be Run under windows, by windows and with windows, and NO other OS release. The servers are windows(suck). They are still WONDERING on if they need more then 1 set of servers around the world, not just in the Europe.
Anybody want to tell me HOW dependable Windows SERVER is?? I have seen for myself. But anybody want to TELL me for sure?
If you are running MS Sql Server with out the latest patch, its pretty unstable. ROFL!
Just that I have been hacked into MORE times when Iv been on a Windows server then others.

EVE looks impressive, but EnB has been out for some time, has an actual moving storyline (thats cool, I think ;) rather than just walk around and trade/blow stuff up).
The way I figure is EVE looks more like a realistic space-MMORPG, EnB is just fun ;)

aye, WestWood is boom boom, shame, I liked Westwood, they did the game "Legend of Kyrandia" ;) (old school adventure gamers, oh yeh), and CnC, etc... o well
as long as they keep working on my game, and there are no player whipes when/if they move the server(s), Im fine.

E&B has been out for almost 3 months. They have added a few patches, and adding more. The game(is said) to be abit weak, but the graphics stunning.
The patches are supposed to correct game problems and add a few options.

EnB was week because they didnt have any missions, it was just all about leveling up. Although it still is like that ;), they have added missions, and the game is getting interesting once more, now that there is stuff to do.

I heard they stopped on ELITE4, did a few things, and have Re-started it again. Only problem with it, is that they WISH to release it to 6 OS environments, windows, linux, mac, and consoles. Thats whats taking Soooo Long. I KNOW that will have 1,000,000(at least) sold the day of release. Elite2 and 3(iv been told) sold OVER 100,000,000, and that was LONG ago.

Ok I downloaded it. Now how do I get it working? It asks for a code. I don't have the code for the demo.
Were you going to get the buddy code ? So its $15 per month, with that one time fee. That isn't too bad.
I tried to start trillian tonight and it wouldn't sign on. I am going to try and fix it in the morning. PM me is the best way. Email is not orangized yet.
