New Sony LCD projection TV

I was making my regular trip to Best Buy today and saw this beautiful 42" widescreen TV from Sony, I think it's called the KF42WE610. I would love to see a review of it here. The thing is only 17" deep. It's a great medium for those who like the price of a rear projection CRT (KF42WE610 is about $2,700), but need the space saving quality of an expensive plasma.

We were just talking about this in the other thread. The new LCD rear projection sets certainly look great and are rather affordable compared to Plasma or the newer LCOS sets coming out. Plus a lot of these new LCD sets come with an integrated HDTV tuner which is an added bonus.

I saw this exact same set at BB, too. It was REALLY nice. I'm very picky about the contrast levels of LCD projection TVs, and this thing was excellent. In fact, it has made me rethink getting a plasma. I mean, hell, for the price of a 42" plasma, I could get a 60" version. What do you guys think?

ECA will become famous soon enough
And for around $3000 you could get a Full projection setup, with 6' to 21' display.

... which I couldn't watch because the wall is about 4' from the 7' tall windows. Not to mention having to mount it into the building's original brick... :/

Windows can be pulled out and walled up.
You can mout many of these on the cieling, they invert the picture.

smallest amout of space for a REAR projection even LCD is around 10csqF.
Front view is about 2csqF. The only extra room you need is for projection, and the wall area.
but to each there own.
Can you see a Comp game on this screen? WOW.

I see your point, but I think it kinda looks odd having a projection screen just standing in the middle of the wall (my ceiling is too high, and directly under the building's roof to have it roll up into it.)

Every projector I've seen has never shown anything close to black. That's what I was impressed by with this tv. Sure I could close up the windows, but I kinda wanna have light in the room at the same time.

I wish there was a decent store to check out fp lcds. At least I can walk in to Tweeter or Best Buy, muck around with the controls, and stroll away casually while the unit starts shooting sparks.

I've been playing SOCOM 2 the alst few days and it rocks, but I have a feeling the reason I die within the first, oh, 10-15 seconds is because the resolution on my tv sucks so badly that the other team has to be practically sniffing my balls before I see em.
