Really Weird: Guy living at Paris airport since 1988

A man named Merhan Karimi Nasseri was left stranded at Paris airport in August 26, 1988 (That's 1988, not 1998). As of 2001, he's still there, living at the airport, a victim of bureaucratic snafus, political expediency, catch-22 situation and Kafkaesquism at its finest (or worst, depending on your POV).

thats a pretty sad story. It's pretty amazing that politcs could effect someones life so badly. Now it sounds like this guy is basically mentally ill because he's been stuck there so long.

OMG!! i just read the story, MY GOD!! that guy must have for sure lost his marbles by now.... There's no way i would have stayed there that long, let alone 1day,, i would have ran from that place and hitched it back to where i wanted to go. When you come to a check point, jump out take a few days across the country side and then come back out and hitch it again. But for GOD's Sake, don't live at the airport. that's like purgatory or somthing.
