Why do I need to upgrade?
=========================
- This upgrade allows your DMM to work on PC with Hyperthreading technology (HT).
- Also prevent the crashing of DMM in playing back of MP3 with variable bit rate.


How do I upgrade?
=================
Please follow the steps below to install the latest DMM software into your HDD100 or HDD120 Recording Audio Jukebox
1. If you have a previous version of the Philips Digital Media Manager (DMM) installed in your computer,you need to first uninstall the software via the Add/Remove program at the control panel and also remove the short cut from the desktop of your PC.
2. Click "Download PC software" to download the zip file to a temporary directory or on the desktop by clicking OK and then SAVE.
3. Unzip the file
4. Click the Philips_hdd.exe file to run the installation program.
5. Select the preferred language and follow the screen instructions to complete the installation.
6. click the Philips DMM icon on your desktop to start using the software.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

- In order to optimize the performance of the software, you need to download and install also the latest Firmware for your device from the web site.
(Read the Firmware upgrade Readme file for more information)

its not really a big upgrade...new firmware reportedly coming "soon"

yeh that philipstech said he predicted a firmware update soon but that was bout 4 weeks ago now.

maybe they only fixed that pause bug, but i think this would be deffinatly the last firmware update as their bringing new models out.

lets just hope they havent just fixed that one bug!!

I havent heard of any new 20gb models...just the wimpy 3gb ones.

But remember hdd100, it has same software as hdd120, so the new hdd130 could have the same software. And i belive that this soon-to-be-released firmware will bring some mayor changes.

it would be cool if that hdd084 was in 20gb and the hdd095/3 would be the junior one's, instead of all of them being mini.

i heard that the hdd095/3 will have the like music feature, but was wondering if the hdd084 will have this feature. i know that it is coming out months before the hdd095's but its a possibility?.

If I have to, I can live with DMM. If Philips can fix the pause bug that would be nice too. But a 'resume play' setting back to the track you were listening after the player has been switched off for a while would be appreciated by many.

Yeah, it's a useful feature, but drains battery even when turned off.
