Gateway M210

I am happy to see Gateway still release some nice laptops to the market. I was afraid they had cheapened their brand too much with the take-over of eMachines.

Optimized for the battery life and performance demands of mobile computing, the Gateway M210 notebook line includes an Intel Celeron M processor or Intel® Centrino Mobile Technology with an Intel Pentium M processor. To take advantage of wireless computing at home, school, hotels and other WiFi Hot Spots, the Gateway M210 offers integrated 802.11g wireless. Rounding out its communications capabilities, the Gateway M210 also includes Intel 10/100Mbps Ethernet and a 56K V.92 modem.

The Gateway M210 series offers users a choice of a DVD-ROM/CD-RW combo drive or DVD burner, a 40GB or 60GB hard drive and 256 MB of memory, expandable to 1256MB through the SODIMM memory slot. Integrated Intel 855GM graphics with 32MB UMA video memory turn the PC into the perfect medium for watching DVDs and developing presentations.

The Gateway M210 is ready to handle digital media hobbies, thanks to its 4-in-1 digital media manager that can accept MultiMediaCard (MMC), Secure Digital (SD), Memory Stick and Memory Stick Pro media used in the latest digital devices. It also includes three USB 2.0 ports for connecting the latest peripherals, IEEE 1394 for video and an array of input/output ports. All Gateway M210 products come with Microsoft Windows XP Home or Windows XP Pro operating system.

Available in three different configurations, the M210 series notebook ranges in price from $899.99 to $1,299.99. The M210CS provides a balance of technology and value for anyone on a budget, including students and families. The M210CS includes an Intel Celeron-M 340 processor (1.50 GHz), 256MB of DDR Memory, 40GB hard drive and a CD-RW/DVD-ROM combo drive for only $899.99.

Packed with technology that power-users will appreciate, the Gateway M210S Plus raises the bar for performance in a thin-and-light notebook. The Gateway M210S Plus features Intel Centrino technology with an Intel Pentium-M 725 processor (1.60GHz), 512MB of DDR memory and a 60GB hard drive(3). The notebook also features technology extras that boost performance and functionality, such as the systems' 8X multi-function DVD+/- R/RW drive that reads and records DVDs and CDs. The M210S Plus is priced at $1,299.99.
