Lowered performance.
I just recently moved my system from my 96 jeep grand cherokee to a 2002 jeep liberty. I have 2 10' kenwood typhoons, a 1000 watt 2 channel kenwood amp, and a kenwood radio in which the name escapes me at the moment. I removed the instalation kit from my old jeep and ran it through my new one. For some reason my subs are not hitting at even half of what they used to. I'm used to feeling my heart skip during some songs, now they could be mistaken for door speakers.
The strange thing is that if I remove either of the inputs(left or right) coming from the radio and just have one plugged into the amp, it sounds better, not great, but much better than it does with both plugged up. I've alternated between both wires and ports and that doesnt seem to make a difference, just how many I have plugged up at one time. I thought it may be that I had went down to a smaller battery when I switched vehicles so I took my 1000w battery from my old jeep and tried that out. No change. I'm going to get my friend to come over and plug up his inputs from his head unit into my amp. Hopefully that will tell me if its being caused by the radio/wires or the amp/battery/power wire. Any suggestions though on what could be causing this though?
