best food shopping store
What are peoples experiences of different food shopping sites in the UK?
The main ones being ASDA, Tesco, sainsburys, morrisions, waitrose. I'm thinking of starting to use these sites but wondered which is best. Do you still get all the buy on get one free offers etc on line that are in the store? Is there perhaps more online or some kind of other discounts to encourage you to use online food shops? |

F35,
THINK hard now..is there ANYPLACE that you can shop that has EVERY piece of hardware, tools,DVR's, ANYTHING from around the world you could think of in 1 location.. NOPE. Any store you goto, with a front door, can only have a SMALL representation of goods. Just counting the numbers for TV/Monitors and the options for each, including SIZE/COLOR/DPI/... you could NOT have a Store with the WHOLE selection from EVERY maker/seller. The net is the largest store available, AS WELL as an information source on WHO HAS IT. There is 1 problem..and that is IF' the maker can sell in your country.

i just meant this is relation to food shops. These normally sell every type of food most people want. My question was what do people think is the best one and what peoples experiences with the big stores.
I personally do most of my shopping at tesco and some shopping at Morrison's. I have never used a online shop for food so i'm not sure if i would still use tesco if i had the choice. The choice is no longer limited to what is the closest store but what one they like the best. A relative is disabled and has trouble getting to the shops. Online shops with delivery would be ideal for him. One problem is he doesn't have the Internet or know how to use a computer. In fact he has never even touched a computer. If some of these shops offered some kind of letter requesting shopping using some kind of catalogue or using the telephone. I am trying to get my gran to let us order things for her but as the shopping is a small load the delivery charge pushes up the price. |

problem with online FOOD shopping..thats EASY.
SHIPPING costs. Unless these online stores have a LOCAL shop they use, you are paying for delivery of goods. LARGE packages have extra charges..as well as HEAVY goods. I use a Double Paper bag, and I can get 40-60lbs into a bag. Unless there are special GOODS that are not available Locally...Its better to shop NEAREST to yourself.
