Siemens mobile launches the great value A60

Offering a color screen, triband technology and polyphonic ring tones at an affordable price, the A60 is a handset for those who want to inject color into their communication.

Launched today at www.siemensmobilelaunch.com, the versatile and simple to use A60 is a triband phone styled with bold looks and a 4,096 color screen. Complemented by a variety of exchangeable CLIPit Covers and offering 16 polyphonic ring tones, the A60 has a variety of outfits and soundtracks. Lightweight too, the handset weighs only 85 grams - ensuring it fits into your pocket as easily as it slots into your life. And, thanks to its massive 5 hours talk time and 250 hours of standby time, the A60 is a reliable link to your world.

The A60 allows you to communicate easily with a group of friends at once, whether you choose to use the extra long SMS or the EMS (Enhanced Message Service) message service. Creative communicators can add in various pre-installed sounds, images and animations. And there are many more available for download at www.my-siemens.com/city via the A60’s clever WAP 1.2.1 browser.

Rudi Lamprecht, Member of the Managing Board at Siemens AG and President of Siemens Information and Communication Mobile, said: "The A60 is the first phone to truly bring color to the mass market. And, despite being an entry level phone, it has a broad feature set which can be personalised thanks to the WAP browser. Consumers will definitely enjoy using it – the A60 it is colorful, easy, and hugely reliable.”

The A60 comes with a wide range of Siemens Original Accessories to allow convenience wherever you are. Besides the six fashionable CLIPit Covers, there is a Headset PTT, various chargers and data cables, an extra battery and a practical Tour Case. Plus, there is a range of in-car solutions including: a Car Kit Comfort that comes with a two-part modular cradle to easily adapt to most Siemens future mobile phones; a flexible Car Kit Portable; a Basic Car Pack; and well as a Mobile Holder.

The phone will be available in Europe from October 2003.
