Bleh... at least it looks better than Dell's attempt at re-packaging an MP3 jukebox as their own.

Honestly, if they took that ugly control pad off, it would look very similar in shape to the iPod.

That I'll agree on... but I'm not too hot on the mirror finish either since it is begging for fingerprint marks, scuffs and scratches.
I personally prefer the look of the 2nd gen iPods (the one that went from a moving wheel/dial to a touch-sensitive ring on the front) versus the new ones.

I just saw a review of several mini-form factor pc cases on another site, and one had led illuminated status icons that shown through the mirrored finish on the front. I think THAT would have been cool. No buttons on it, but all touch sensative case and a dispaly that appears from behind the mirror.
Yeah, this looks okay, but after you pick it up the first time I'm sure the fingerprints will make it look junky. B |

Its always a wonder. Are you going to stare at it allday, if its so pretty?
I look for funtionality PERIOD. forget bells and whisles. Forget what it looks like, its going to be in a case or pocket anyway. That nice display, does it work, does it have mutiple line display, or is it a 2" display for a clock? We have dicussed sound quality before. And its not mentioned, we need someone to go test it. In the last discussion it was found that Sony sucks, and the phillips(?) had better sound and was much cheaper. If it sells because of its looks, and NOT its quality, I will laugh at the Morons.

I wonder who makes this device for Gateway. I think Gateway and Dell and fools for entering this market without doing a lot of research. I mean common, who buys LCD TV's in the first place? And secondly would you buy it from Dell instead of Sony or Sharp? ummm no The same thing here. I would rather buy a Nomad or iPod which are in their 3rd generations.

NOW,
Im not belittleing the stuff we dont see or get, from those little manufactours in tiawan, indoneesa, and other places. They do have some neet stuff and there is alot more competition in japan then in the US. And Someone has to have made some neet things. But, until someone gets there hands on the item and tells you and I, on this site, what is good and bad about a product, I DONT think Im going to even consider it. WHY? you may ask. WELL, it comes down to money. Why should i spend my money on CRAP, or why on something, when there is better out there. I would rather spend money on something I can Like for the next 3-5 years, then to buy again Next year. Tech aint cheap. but someone makes an item that meets all the new tech, at a reasonable price.

re: Cloud
So should other companies have stayed away from the auto business since Ford got there first? As for me, I'd never get an ipod or nomad b/c they lack the features I need and I'm glad someone else out there is coming up with better products, even if they may be 1st gen... |
