Popup blocker (googles alright...)

I want a built in popup blocker for IE... google is ok, but I dont like having all that extra crap on my IE bar, I dont need a google search or anything like that, just a blocker.

recommendations?

i love google toolbar, i use it constantly so i like the search field.
but you can just right click the toolbar and uncheck it, it still blocks the popups.

Why not try Mozilla Firebird? It's a free browser, is faster than IE, looks very similar, and features "Tabbed Browsing" where instead of having to open up new windows, you have tabs open in Mozilla - you still can open new windows if you want.

It has a built-in search bar and popup blocker.

I just use Popup Stopper free edition and that blocks most stuff just fine.

Are these toolbar-based blockers much better? I'd like something that can also block the flash popup ads but allow regular flash-based content. any recommedations on that?

Another browser other than IE?! Wow, I honestly have not considered this since Netscape was still in popular use hehe

I shall have to try this out.

yea, yea firebird...

if you hide the google toolbar, it no longer blocks popups.

as for the search, just tell IE to use your address bar for google search, enter anything other than an http or ftp, and get a google search.

Actually, if you can find a standalone download other than a stupid toolbar, I would recommend that. The google and alexa toolbars slow down your browser enough to where I notice.

actually, you can make google your default even without the bar,
goto Search > Customize > Autosearch Settings, and you can set it as google, and wham, it works
